You can access At Home Care’s SIL services if you live on your own or are sharing with other NDIS participants.

Supported independent living may include support:

  • with personal care tasks
  • to build your skills in things like meal preparation and cooking, cleaning, and
    developing a routine
  • to develop your social skills
  • with supervision, personal safety and security
  • to give you your medication
  • to attend medical appointments
  • for community access that isn’t routine or regular, for example support to complete personal tasks
  • to get to and from community access activities, where this is your preference. For example, support to attend hydrotherapy sessions, or to visit family or friends outside of the home.

Supported Independent Living (SIL) services to help keep you independent, at home

Yes.

As of 1 July 2026, if you receive Supported Independent Living (SIL) services, your provider will need to be registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. These new rules are designed to give NDIS participants peace of mind. Importantly, they make sure everyone who needs daily support can count on safe, high-quality, and consistent care.

All unregistered SIL providers must apply for registration by 1 October 2026 and be approved to provide support. If they do not apply or they are not approved by the NDIS Commission, they must cease providing SIL services.

Unfortunately, if your provider is not, or is not planning to register, you will need to transition to a registered provider.

If you receive SIL supports from a registered provider, it means they must meet specific quality checks and compliance requirements set out by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

As part of their registration, your provider will need to meet regulatory requirements, including:

  1. Undergo certification audits.
  2. Comply with the NDIS Practice Standards Core Module.
  3. Comply with a new SIL-specific supplementary Practice Standards module.
  4. Meet all other applicable NDIS registration conditions.

These requirements are in place to ensure that if you need intensive daily support, you can feel confident that your services are safe, high-quality, and delivered by regulated providers.
