What does being a Disability Support Worker look like?
The role of a Disability Support Worker (also known as a Support Worker or Carer) is a special one.
Our team of Support Workers provides day-to-day assistance to adults and children living with disabilities. They support them in living independently, help them work toward their goals, and discover new passions. When your job is to give someone the freedom to live life how they choose, each day is different—and there’s plenty of fun to be had along the way!
Each of our clients has goals they would like to achieve, which can be as diverse as learning to make a delicious meal, going bowling, getting a job, or improving their fitness. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing your clients progress towards their goals. Most of our Support Workers work closely with the same people, so you get to know them well and celebrate their progress.
While many of the adults and children we support need assistance with physical tasks such as getting in and out of bed, showering, and getting ready for the day, others may need assistance processing information and accessing the community.
At Home Care Support Workers enjoy flexible and consistent working hours and locations, with full training, 24/7 clinical support, and the benefit from a growing industry with opportunities for career progression and ongoing development.
