Continence assessments, At Home

A continence assessment can provide advice and means to help you access ongoing support and management options. It involves being seen by an At Home Care Clinical Nurse – Continence Advisor, who will discuss your or your child’s bladder or bowel symptoms. The nurse may conduct a physical examination to identify the type and causes of incontinence.

Our clinical nurse will visit you and offer expertise in preparing your continence plan, defining the products you need, and reviewing the plan. At the end of the continence assessment, you’ll have a better understanding of:

  • A continence management plan tailored to your needs and goals
  • Recommendation for continence products and equipment you need
  • Improved management techniques

NDIS continence assessment and support for complex care

Individuals with an acquired brain injury, spinal cord injuries, or neurological conditions may have more medically complex care needs, resulting in additional levels of support, such as complex bowel care. Our continence assessment and management services are here to give you peace of mind. You can trust that our team has the expertise and experience to support you.

At Home Care is a trusted provider of specialist care for individuals with complex, high-care needs, including overnight support, ventilator care, and 24/7 assistance. Talk to our team about our continence services and support for complex care individuals.

NDIS continence support for children

Children and young individuals with disabilities and complex care requirements may require daily toileting assistance. Typically, you, your family, or caregivers will be responsible for meeting your child’s toileting needs.

At Home Care can provide additional clinical nursing support for your child through continence assessments, private training of family and caregivers, and further support to meet NDIS requirements.

If you have questions about our support and training options, contact our team, and we’ll help you.
